CRACKING PERFORMANCE TO BEAT THE UNBEATEN RICHARD

CRACKING PERFORMANCE TO BEAT THE UNBEATEN RICHARD

LOWER BRECK7 Sep 2024 - 09:59

A Cracking Performance Infront Of A Great Home Crowd...

Another very good performance, beating Charnock Richard 2-1 last night, with the scoreline wrongly suggesting it was a close affair.

Started the game on the front foot and with the formation of Charnock offering us plenty of space we were getting plenty of ball and opportunities to punish them also.

The opening goal came via a good press from Lewis Buckley and Jesse Dowling and with Jesse winning the ball back and the ball falling to Bucko he slotted it in for Jesse to drive in on goal and with his weaker foot he sent home a tidy finish to give us a deserved lead.

We were always on the front foot and some of our football was really pleasing, with only the final ball missing in some of the best passages of play.

HT 1-0

Second half we started against ten men as Charnock had a man sin binned just before the half-time whistle, and in truth we didn’t start it with the control we would have liked, but there was one passing move that cut the opposition right open when Lewis Buckley was put through on goal, and we all thought he was taken out last man, but the referee indicated the defender got a slight touch on the ball.

Soon as Charnock went back up to ten men we got our second goal when a free kick out on the right seen Bucko get a faint touch and it glanced into the defender and the back of the net.

We had the game under control right up until the 92nd minute when Theo was punished for apparent time-wasting and in doing so an in-direct free kick was awarded, the free-kick was blocked but then a block from Josh Dobie seen him punished for a handball, Theo going the right way, but it was slotted in the corner.

The goal came too late for Charnock, and we come away with another deserving three points.

FT 2-1

As stated, another very good performance with some eye-catching performances and football played throughout.

The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Morgan Falloh, Morgs has had to wait for his chance since coming in and he hasn’t moaned once and has said, once it comes he will take it and he certainly done that last night, a confident performance up against one of the best wingers in the league…

Jesse Dowling & Owen Codge more than deserving of a mention also…

A great crowd down at the Anny last night with 250+ in attendance, fantastic midweek gate and very much appreciated by us all.

It’s now onto Pilkington away on Saturday afternoon and a quick turnaround for a thin squad, but with confidence bubbling throughout we have to keep stepping up and backing up the previous performance.

We Go Again…
