An outstanding away performance from the lads yesterday, beating Glossop 4-0.
An even contest in the opening five / ten minutes of the game, Lewis Buckley going close with our best effort before Glossop had an opportunity running through on goal but Theo done well to prevent any shot being made.
We started to gain the upper hand and with Lewis Buckley & Tom Croughan massive threats from the front it wasn’t long before they linked up for the opening goal, Tom feeding the ball to Bucko who took it in on his right foot and absolutely drilled it past the Glossop keeper, a cracking finish from Bucko.
From that point on the performance was perfect and even though we didn’t manage to get a second in the half the performance was composed, and we looked like we had many gears to go through.
HT 1-0
Straight after the restart it was two nil, Frazer Cookson carrying a ball slightly down the right hand side, and he spotted the excellent left to right run from Tom Douglas, Dougie beat the keeper to the ball for a first time finish.
It was all Breck, Lewis Buckley forcing the keeper into a fine save with his legs before Tom Croughan had a glorious opportunity when he headed wide.
Little did he no he had all the time in the world to take it down, he followed that up with a great bit of play and just as it looked like he was going to get his goal after beating his man, the keeper pulled off another cracking outstretched save to deny him.
Tom and Bucko linked up once again, and it was fantastic work from Croughan who fed Bucko, and he steadied himself to send home another tidy finish.
The one we all wanted to see was Tom Croughan get on the scoresheet and his reward for another selfless performance, Jordan Barrow the provider, and it was probably the tougher chance TC had, but he took it well and as I say go his reward for another great showing.
A raft of substitutions for us but the chances didn’t stop coming as we ran through Glossop at will down the middle, sadly just the final ball prevented any further goals, but the energy from the bench was first class.
FT 4-0
On that back of a tough game Thursday night that was some performance to go away from home, against an in form side and beat them comfortably and keep a clean sheet also, the hunger, energy, desire from the first to last minute was first class and the lads deserve all the plaudits for the performance.
The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to skipper Connor Millo who was immense in the middle of the park, the trust he has in Baz as a midfield partner has seen Millo push on this season and that was clear to see in the game.
Many more contenders and can’t name them all but Croughan & Bucko were more than worthy of a vote also.
Massive thank you to those who made the trip with us, I always say it but support like that on the road only helps ti drive the lads on and the appreciation at the end was first class also.
We start a brutal month of October with a Macron Cup game away at Pilkington on Wednesday night, no doubt a few changes as we look to the heavy schedule ahead of us, but another game we go to win.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
