A poor performance tonight going down 1-0 to Stockport Town at Home.
It was clear from the opening minutes Town came to defend with ten men behind the ball and hit us on the counter and they did it well.
The criminal thing to do against sides who set up that way is to concede first and we did that on 30 minutes and it had been coming, with the counter ball causing us a few issues prior to the goal.
Before Town scored we had the ball In the net after a Stockport player miss hit a pass putting Jesse Dowling in, the offside flag went up and from what we’re told mistakenly, not a great night for those who make the big decisions that’s for sure.
HT 0-1
Second half we pushed for a goal but it was more huff and puff, Tom Croughan had the best chance after a fantastic ball from Jordan Barrow, Tom going in on the keeper from the right hand side but his shot was curled away from goal and that really was our best chance of the half.
FT 0-1
I’ll use the words from supporter Keith Boyle to finish the report.
16 games, two defeats. Little wake up call today. Still in the top four. Got away with a few lately. Not the end of the world getting a little kick up the arse. Onwards and upwards
The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Connor Millington who tried to push us on as we went in search of the equaliser.
As always a massive thanks to those in attendance tonight, your support as always is more than appreciated.
It’s a quick turnaround as we host AFC Liverpool on Saturday, a massive game to face as we look to put things right.
We Go Again.
