A cracking 5-0 win for the lads yesterday against Glossop North End.
Early in the first half there wasn’t much to shout about (unless you was there dugout) with both teams trying to gain the upper hand, and thankfully it was us who got the games' opener.
Elliot Hughes cleverly flicked on a ball to Dan Lowey who drove into the box and unleashed a cracking left footed strike, leaving thre keeper with no chance.
The rest of the half we threatened without testing their keeper, and it was the same for Theo in our goal also.
HT 1-0
The second half was a dominant Breck performance with the football, assists & goals a real joy to watch.
Our second goal seen Connor Millington spray a ball out to the left for Elliot Hughes who took his man into the box and after a ridiculous drop of the shoulder unleashed a cracking left-footed strike that stuck in the stanchion, some strike from some player.
The third seen Elliot Hughes put a ball through for Jesse Downling to run onto and Jess beat the keeper to the ball and grabbed his 13th goal of the season.
Number four came from the penalty spot when Dan Lowey was taken out near the touch line and up stepped Lewis Buckley who made no mistake.
The fifth goal was one that pleases the management team more than anything, seeing the lads who came off the bench keeping a high energy even when knowing the game was buried.
With Liam Morris pressing a ball, Sam Burns followed and after forcing the Glossop player into a mistake, pulling the ball back across the edge of his box and Elliot Hughes pounced and sent home another top draw finish to cap a cracking second half performance.
FT 5-0
A quality second half showing from the lads and on the back of a few very good performances we can see the confidence returning to the with the ball at the feet, they wanna play, and they want to create and that’s exactly what we want to be seeing.
The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Elliot Hughes , Two stunning strikes and a quality assist, it’s fair to say when he has got the ball at his feet your waiting for magic to happen and the best part he delivers.
A mention for Dan Lowey also who once again first class with his running from left back, another lad who has came in and brought real quality to the side.
Next up we travel to FC St Helens on Tuesday night in the Macron Cup, we hope you can come and join us (weather permitting).
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
