Another good away win as we come away from Squires Gate with a 2-0 win.
The opening goal seen a well worked corner delivery from Dan Lowey which was flicked on and headed home via Jordan Barrow.
We had a lot of space to play football in, but it’s always tricky on the muddy bobbling surface at Gate, but we looked to do so at every opportunity with Sam Burns the driving force and Tim Croughan having some good moments also.
It was those two players who linked up for the second goal after we had seen out a long throw in, Jordan Barrow sent a ball down the right-hand side, Tom Croughan followed it and delivered a quality ball across for Sam Burns and after taking it around the keeper Burns composed himself and put it away.
Gate had their moments with the ball, but Theo wasn’t tested in between the sticks and the half was seen out.
HT 2-0
A sloppy twenty minutes from ourselves seen Gate have more opportunities with the ball, but once again Theo was rarely troubled, and it took a Sam Burns tackle to spark us in to life.
We didn’t get another goal, but it wasn’t for the lack of trying with ten plus shots had, Sam Burns could have grabbed himself another four or five and Jordan Barrow had a massive chance right at the end, but he hit it probably too clean and it skimmed the post.
FT 2-0
Not a vintage performance but on them muddy away days all that matters is the points and for us to wrap up what’s been a tremendous month with six games played we have won five and drew one, a great response to the previous month's games.
The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Sam Burns once again, no question of his ability with the ball but his tackle today lifted us when we had took our foot of it and that was just as important as his goal on the day.
Jordan Barrow another who had a good all around game and is starting to recapture his early season form.
As always a massive thanks to those on the road with your support on them away days is first class and today no exception,
Up next we welcome Marine to the Anny on Thursday night in the LCFA Senior Cup, we hope you can come join us against a side currently three steps up on us in the pyramid.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…❤️
