Despite securing a late point, a largely disappointing performance last night seen us draw 3-3 with Longridge Town.
Could have been a goal down with the first attack, but a great save from Paddy Wharton kept us level, and it was straight up the other end and two outstanding saves from the Town keeper that kept us out, Lewis Buckley forcing a stunning save.
We had further chances, but it was a slow, scrappy half with the ball.
HT 0-0
Second half seen all the goals and from our point of view and after watching it back some pretty awful defending for the goals we gave away.
Longridge took the lead from a quick free-kick on the half way line and with at least 6 players switching off it was a poor goal to concede
We got back into it via Lewis Buckley but then found ourselves 3-1 down going into the last ten minute, once again both the goals more than avoidable.
Once thing I’ve got to give the lads credit for is the fight and if you still have that you always have a chance,
The impressive Sam Burns grabbed our second goal before a late well taken goal from skipper Connor Millington secured the point.
FT 3-3
We were way too slow in possession on the night as were forced to go direct also as the football on the floor wasn’t clicking and if am honest it’s how all the goals came through direct balls forcing chances so it had the desired effect despite not being pretty on the eye.
We know we have to be better and changes will be made going into the game with Cheadle Town on Saturday.
The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Sam Burns who was the driving force with the ball and showed the quality’s we need when in possession also…
As always a massive thank you to those in attendance, your support as always is greatly appreciated, we hope to see you all tomorrow afternoon as we welcome Cheadle Town.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
