BRECK STEP UP ONCE AGAIN TO SEE OFF DIDSBURY

Scruffy Goals (Worldies) Grab Another Massive Three Points...

Another big win last night, beating West Didsbury 3-1.

A very scrappy game and in truth we didn’t mind it as the direct style of play from West was being matched and bettered by what we chose to do with the ball.

With the opening ten minutes not seeing much of the ball on the floor, it took an absolute cracking strike from Liam Morris to lift the mood after Connor Millington laid it off, and it was touch and hit and didn’t he hit it with his left peg.

The game reverted back to being a patchy affair, but we managed to get a second on the stroke of half-time when a whipped in Sam Burns corner skimmed off a Didsbury heads.

HT 2-0

The game opened up for us in the second, with Sam Burns driving into it on a few occasions always drawing the men in as he looked to create the bit of magic.

The third goal was another gem with Liam Morris sending a peach of a ball forward for Tom Croughan and the take touch, and eventual finish from TC was absolutely sublime and good enough to wrap any game up.

Frustratingly we let Didsbury back into the game with 25 minutes remaining when debutant Jay Cooper slashed at a ball across the box, and it sliced past Theo, we could have managed the game a little better, but the damage was done, and we took another massive three points.

FT 3-1

It’s fair to say performances are now secondary to results, and we will take them whatever way they come, but two sublime goals and largely controlled performance see’s us move up to second in the table as we look to keep the pressure on the league leaders.

The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Tom Croughan, TC once again worked his nuts off for the lads last night and on the back of a sickness bug as well, scored an absolute cracker and was more than good value for the vote…

As always massive thanks to those in attendance your support is more than needed as we get closer to the finish line, and we need to see more of it once again tomorrow in the early kick-off against FC St Helens at 1pm.

No doubt a few heavy legs for the lads but another big game to get them back up and ready for it.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…
