Another Clinical Performance And The Pressure Stays On...

Another dominant performance last night as we beat South Liverpool 6-0 to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.

Was always about us getting that first goal to settle us down, and it was Tom Croughan with his 15th of the season who opened the scoring after great work down the right hand side, Tom found himself in space and after Elliot Hughes set one back to him without meaning too and TC sent it home to give us that all important first goal.

Goal two seen us move the ball around well down the right-hand side with the movement of the ball top draw and when we went forward it was a neat set from Tom Croughan which put Liam Morris in space and Moz cut one back for Tom Mitchell who had stayed up from the previous set piece, and he tapped in from close range.

Number three seen the ball moved from right to left and after Elliot Hughes’s delivery was parried by the keeper Jesse Dowling was on hand to head home at the back post.

HT 3-0

Straight after the restart it was four when Jesse turned provider with a through ball that took out three south players, the calm and composed Sam Burns rounded the keeper and finished with ease.

Number five was most pleasing with the press from the front forcing South into a mistake and the unselfish Lewis Buckley could have put it away, but he set up Elliot Hughes for the finish, class from Bucko.

The sixth saw Elliot Hughes & Tom Douglas linking up and with Dougie slotting the ball through for Jesse he tapped in another tidy finish to wrap up a dominant Breck performance.

FT 6-0

Goals at just the right time stopped South from building any momentum and even after we made the five substitutions, the hunger, desire and the willingness to go win balls back was first class even when the game was dead and buried and that speaks volumes about this group of players.

The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Connor Millington, who put in a skipper's performance not letting lads drop their levels at any moment in the game, can also mention a few other lads, but Lewis Buckley from the bench came on and pressed hard and didn’t put a foot wrong.

A massive thank you to all in attendance, just under 200 for a chilly Thursday night was good to see, and we thank supporters from both clubs for coming along.

It’s another quick turnaround as we travel to AFC Liverpool tomorrow as we look to keep the pressure on Bury and build a bigger gap from those behind us in the play off race, long way to go, but we're doing all we can that’s for sure.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…
